What Is Trench Reinstatement
When utilities dig a trench through bitumen — sewer, water, NBN — that hole has to be put back the way the council wants. Sub-base compaction tested, hot-mix wearing course laid level with the surrounding road, edges sealed.
Backfill & compaction
Sand bedding, road base in layers, compaction testing each lift. Not just shovelled and tamped — proper density.
Hot-mix wearing course
140°C asphalt laid and rolled to match the existing road profile. The patch bonds to the surrounding pavement, not floating on top.
Edge seal & finish
Sawn straight edges, tack-coated, then sealed. No ragged joints to crack in the first winter.

How quickly can you reinstate after a sewer or water dig?
Most utility trenches are quoted within the same week and reinstated within 1-2 weeks. Urgent work, sooner. Talk to Glenn about it.
Do you supply NATA compaction reports?
Yes. Compaction tested at each lift, NATA reports issued with the as-built pack.
Cold-mix or hot-mix?
Hot-mix. Cold-mix is a temporary patch for emergencies — it lifts in the first heavy rain. Council-spec reinstatement is hot-mix, laid and rolled to density.
Do you do ongoing utility contractor work?
Yes. If you're a sewer, water or NBN contractor needing standing reinstatement, we can build a rolling arrangement. One call, one rate sheet.
What documentation do you supply?
ITPs, ITCs, SWMS, NATA compaction reports, asphalt density cores if required. ISO 9001 quality system.
