Major Projects Around Lake Macquarie AND NEWCASTLE
Our yard sits at Somersby on the NSW Central Coast, north up the M1 from there and you are in Lake Macquarie. We have built a school carpark at Biraban and rebuilt a school basketball court at Warners Bay, both with our own crew and our own plant. For commercial and civil work of scale, that run is ordinary.
What We Travel For
and What We Do Not
The gear that makes this work pay is heavy. Floating a paver, a roller and a crew north only stacks up when they stay on site and keep working. Carparks, courts, subdivision packages and road work around Newcastle and Lake Macquarie all clear that bar.
A driveway, a couple of potholes or an urgent callout does not. That kind of work we keep to the Central Coast, where we cover every suburb and can be there quickly without the drive landing on your invoice. Wyee is the one exception. It sits right on the Lake Macquarie border, and our crew already passes through on other jobs nearby, so we treat it the same as Central Coast work. Elsewhere up here, someone based nearby will do it faster and for less, and we will say so on the phone rather than send a quote.
We put a crew on the road for
- Commercial and industrial carpark construction
- Sports courts and school ground paving
- Subdivision road and civil packages
- Council pavement work built to RMS specification
Better off with a local contractor
- A small residential driveway
- One-off pothole and patch repairs
- Same-day urgent callouts
We take those jobs anywhere on the Central Coast, plus border suburbs like Wyee where our crew already swings past. Ring us anyway if you are unsure which side of the line your job falls on.
Why This Corridor
Suits Our Crew
The job types on the lake side of the M1 are the ones we already build most weeks: school grounds, retail and industrial carparks, courts, and council pavement work. The specifications are familiar, the traffic control requirements are familiar, and nothing on the float needs to change to get there.
- Council Panel Contractor
- Builds to RMS specification
- Own plant, own crew
- Commercial Carparks
- Sports Courts
- Road Construction
- Subdivision Civil Works
- Earthworks
- Kerb & Gutter
Small-job services stay on the Central Coast. See the suburbs we cover.
Work We Have
Already Done Up Here
Both of these were school jobs in the Lake Macquarie area, photographed and filmed on site while our crew worked. Nothing was subcontracted out.

School Car Park Construction, Biraban
Biraban, NSW
School Basketball Court Reconstruction, Warners Bay
Warners Bay NSWWe have also worked near Medowie in Port Stephens. That job has no project page, so we are not going to write it up as though it does. Ask for references when we quote and we will hand over contacts.
Frequently Asked
Travel, job size and what we will and will not take on in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.
Ask Us Anything →Do you charge extra to come to Newcastle?
Mobilisation is a real cost and it goes into the written quote as its own line, so you can see exactly what the travel is worth to you. Nothing is buried in the rates. If that figure looks steep against the size of the job, we will tell you that as well.
How big does a job need to be before the run north makes sense?
The rough test we use is whether the plant stays on site for more than a day. Once a paver, a roller and a crew are committed for several days, the float stops being the deciding number. A half-day job almost never gets there.
Can you do a driveway or a pothole repair while your crew is up here?
Mostly no. Driveways, patches and callouts are Central Coast work for us, because that is where we can respond quickly and keep travel off your bill. Wyee is the exception. It sits minutes from the Central Coast border, near Doyalson and Mannering Park, so it gets the same treatment. Anywhere else around Newcastle or Lake Macquarie, a contractor based nearby will get you a better result, and we would rather say that than take the job.

Glenn and his team were terrific. Such a difficult job made to look easy.

Send us the scope and the site address. We will come and look at it, then put a written quote in front of you with the travel costed separately.
