Driveway line marking covers the edge lines, turning guides, bay delineation and pedestrian zone markings that make a driveway safe and functional. On a busy residential complex or commercial site, clear markings prevent vehicle and pedestrian conflicts and make traffic flow obvious to visitors who do not know the site.
We mark driveways for residential complexes, commercial properties and strata sites across the Central Coast. Driveway marking is commonly combined with resurfacing, where new asphalt is laid and marked in the same site visit. We can also refresh faded driveway markings on existing surfaces without requiring resurfacing.

- No-stopping kerb line 100mm yellow
Continuous yellow line under AS 1742.10 Table 4.1. Yellow is the statutory prohibition colour. Applied offset 150–200mm from the kerb face using two-component road paint or thermoplastic. Prevents vehicles blocking driveway ingress and maintaining sight lines at the entry threshold.
- Edge lines and entry threshold 100mm / 150mm white
100mm white edge lines run the full length on both sides, defining the trafficable carriageway and protecting the asphalt edge. The 150mm transverse white threshold line at the street boundary establishes the driveway limit and alerts pedestrians. Class 1 retroreflectivity minimum; machine-applied.
- Accessible bay + shared zone 2400mm + 2400mm
AS 2890.6 Cl. 2.4 requires a 2400mm bay (5400mm deep) beside a 2400mm shared zone on the same level, hatched at 45° at 600mm centres, hatch line width 100mm. ISA symbol 1200mm × 1200mm centred in the bay. Outdoor bituminous surface gradient capped at 1:33; 1:40 elsewhere.

Where the driveway crosses a footpath, two 400mm wide parallel white transverse lines define the pedestrian priority zone. Spaced to deliver 1200mm clear crossing width per AS 1428.1 Cl. 6.3 and AS 1742.10 pedestrian crossing linemarking requirements. Unobstructed access path from accessible bay to entrance per AS 1428.1 Cl. 8.

Can you refresh faded driveway markings without resurfacing?
Yes. Where the existing surface is in reasonable condition, we can apply fresh markings directly over the existing faded lines. The existing pavement must be clean and sound. We inspect the surface during quoting and confirm whether a marking refresh is appropriate or whether the surface needs attention first.
How long does driveway line marking paint last?
Standard two-component road paint on a residential or commercial driveway typically lasts three to five years depending on traffic volume and UV exposure. Thermoplastic markings last longer, typically five to eight years, and are worth considering for high-traffic driveways and complex entry points.
Do you coordinate driveway line marking with new asphalt?
Yes. We always prefer to mark immediately after new asphalt is laid, in the same site visit. The new surface is clean, the adhesion is excellent, and the client gets a finished driveway in one mobilisation. Let us know during quoting that you want marking included and we will programme it accordingly.
