We are based at Somersby on the NSW Central Coast, and the Hunter is a run we make for civil packages, not for small repairs. Maitland, Rutherford, Thornton and Beresfield are growth country: roads, kerb, drainage tie-ins and hard-standing pavements. That is the shape of work worth putting a crew on the road for.
When the Drive
Is Worth Making
Ask us to price a small driveway in Rutherford and the answer is no. Small jobs, patch repairs and urgent callouts are Central Coast work for us, every suburb in the LGA and no exceptions. Close to home a crew can be with you the same week without the drive swallowing the price.
Civil packages are a different question. When the scope holds plant on site for more than a day, a subdivision road, an industrial pavement, a carpark reconstruction, mobilisation stops being the biggest number in the quote. At that point we would rather be building it than explaining why we cannot.

It depends on how much plant has to be floated and how long it stays, so we cost it job by job instead of applying a flat travel rate. It shows up as a separate line in the written quote, naming the machines and the days it covers, and you are welcome to argue with it.
What scope justifies bringing your crew this far?
Anything that keeps plant working on site beyond a single day. A subdivision road package, an industrial pavement, a carpark rebuild or staged earthworks all qualify. If the work can be finished in a morning, the drive is the wrong shape for it and our price will show that.
We only need a small patch fixed. Will you still come?
Not for a patch. Small repairs, crack sealing and urgent callouts we do all over the Central Coast, but not two hours up the road, because a Hunter contractor will be there sooner and charge less for it. Ring us if you are not certain which category your job sits in and we will tell you straight.
